Conditions to Open the Doors to Berachah
Zechariah 1: 3 & 6 "Therefore say to them, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts: "Return to Me," says the LORD of hosts, "and I will return to you," says the LORD of hosts. Yet surely My words and My statutes, Which I commanded My servants the prophets, Did they not overtake your fathers? "So they returned and said: 'Just as the LORD of hosts determined to do to us, According to our ways and according to our deeds, So He has dealt with us.'"'"
Zechariah 7: 11, 12 say that they did not heed the Lord's message. "But they refused to heed, shrugged their shoulders, and stopped their ears so that they could not hear. Yes, they made their hearts like flint, refusing to hear the law and the words which the LORD of hosts had sent by His Spirit through the former prophets. Thus great wrath came from the LORD of hosts."
Zechariah 3: 6 again says, 'If you will walk in My ways, And if you will keep My command, Then you shall also judge My house, And likewise have charge of My courts; I will give you places to walk Among these who stand here.'
The door that Jesus opened by shedding His blood on the cross is open to all those who believe. Berachah (Blessing) is not for the one who worships or prays or fasts. But Berachach is for the one that obeys. When one accepts Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Saviour, he will be led into all truth. One who is saved should take baptism and live in holiness.
There is no point in making a dry sinner a wet one. A true believer will not bother even if he is not blessed for he has seen the true light of the cross.
The process of getting Berachah
Zechariah 1: 3 - 4 "Therefore say to them, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts: "Return to Me," says the LORD of hosts, "and I will return to you," says the LORD of hosts. Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets preached, saying, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts: "Turn now from your evil ways and your evil deeds."' But they did not hear nor heed Me," says the LORD.
I am reminded of a cartoon strip where a husband and wife go to a party and the wife realizes that her husband is wearing stinking socks. She asks him to go out and buy himself a new pair and come back. When he comes back, he was still stinking. When asked, he showed his new socks on his feet. She then enquired about the old socks. He had kept them in his pocket.
Child of God, we are not to carry our stinking clothes - our sins and iniquity around. "Turn now from your evil ways and your evil deeds." Return to Me, and I will return to you".
Malachi 2: 2 If you will not hear, And if you will not take it to heart, To give glory to My name," Says the LORD of hosts, "I will send a curse upon you, And I will curse your blessings. Yes, I have cursed them already, Because you do not take it to heart.
It does not matter who you are - priest, pastor or bishop! Malachi 3: 9 - 10 says 'You are cursed with a curse, For you have robbed Me, Even this whole nation. Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this," Says the LORD of hosts, "If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.'
Give to God what's to be given. Obey God in what He commands. Then you will be blessed.
