Zechariah says, "Thus says the LORD of hosts: 'In those days ten men from every language of the nations shall grasp the sleeve of a Jewish man, saying, "Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you."'" (8: 23)
Why choose the book of Zechariah? Even though it is in the Old Testament, it has clear prophesy, even till Jesus' second coming. Zechariah 14: 4 says "And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, Which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, From east to west, Making a very large valley; Half of the mountain shall move toward the north And half of it toward the south."
Zechariah 12: 10 "And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn." This prophecy regarding the Great Tribulation has not come true yet.
If you turn to God, you
will be blessed. Lets look at the blessings listed Zechariah:
"Thus says the LORD of hosts: 'Old men and old women shall again sit
in the streets of Jerusalem, each one with his staff in his hand because of
great age. The streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing
in its streets.'" Zechariah 8: 4, 5
In 1Samuel 3:12 - 14 "In that day I will perform against Eli all that I have spoken concerning his house, from beginning to end. "For I have told him that I will judge his house forever for the iniquity which he knows, because his sons made themselves vile, and he did not restrain them. And therefore I have sworn to the house of Eli that the iniquity of Eli's house shall not be atoned for by sacrifice or offering forever." Eli's sons never lived beyond their youth.
"Return to Me, and I will return to you". God says that if you turn to Him, He will bless you with health, family and children. Zechariah 8: 4 says that your health will be blessed. Today, 98% of heart diseases are caused by stress. But if you believe God, He will bless you with peace that no man can understand. (Philippians 4:7)
No one should rebel against this message. Don't think that you are someone big. Accept this message now. He is a God who can humble the proud.
Zechariah 8 vs.
5 promises happy children
'The streets of the city Shall be full of boys and girls Playing in its streets.'
Vs. 8 promises that
you will have someone to own you
'I will bring them back, And they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. They
shall be My people And I will be their God, In truth and righteousness.' The
reason for maximum suicides is that they don't have a place to go to someone.
Vs. 9 promises powerful
worship
"Thus says the LORD of hosts: 'Let your hands be strong, You who have
been hearing in these days These words by the mouth of the prophets, Who spoke
in the day the foundation was laid For the house of the LORD of hosts, That
the temple might be built.'"
Vs. 10 promises
prosperity in job
'For before these days there were no wages for man nor any hire for beast'
Vs. 11, 12 promises
blessing in agriculture
'But now I will not treat the remnant of this people as in the former days,'
says the LORD of hosts. 'For the seed shall be prosperous, The vine shall
give its fruit, The ground shall give her increase, And the heavens shall
give their dew-I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these.'
Vs. 13 says you
have to fear no more
'And it shall come to pass That just as you were a curse among the nations,
O house of Judah and house of Israel, So I will save you, and you shall be
a blessing. Do not fear, Let your hands be strong.' Most of the calls that
I receive are related to fear. The truth is that when God comes, all fear
will go.
Vs. 19 promises
that your fasts will become joyful
"Thus says the LORD of hosts: 'The fast of the fourth month, The fast
of the fifth, The fast of the seventh, And the fast of the tenth, Shall be
joy and gladness and cheerful feasts For the house of Judah. Therefore love
truth and peace." When do we normally fast? When we face trouble? But
as believers if we turn to God, God will turn our fasting into joyful feasts
and festivals.
Prophecy: By the end of the camp, God will bring His abundant blessings into families of obeying people.
Vs. 21 Nations will
seek the Almighty
The inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, "Let us continue
to go and pray before the LORD, And seek the LORD of hosts. I myself will
go also."
Jesus said, "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" Matthew 11:28. This promise still stands and calls people from all over.
Vs. 22 Jerusalem
will be the center of joy
'Yes, many peoples and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts
in Jerusalem, and to pray before the LORD.'
The reason hundreds come to faith city church every week is because they know that there are blessings here. God will bless abundantly.
Prophecy: People around will realize that God is with you and say that they are also coming with you to worship this mighty God.
