The dead raised

During his 27years of preaching he saw 6 people raised from the dead. His first experience was early in his Christian walk when he did not even know how to preach. With a team of Christians he went to preach in a village that was stooped in witchcraft and idol worship. The team preached in the market and no one seemed interested. After preaching, an old lady approached the team and asked if they needed a place to stay for the night, to which they accepted her invitation. However, she died that night.

The village priest told the villagers that this had happened to her because she dared to entertain these Christians. He went on to tell them that they needed to sacrifice these Christians in order to remove the curse upon the village. Jonathan and the other team members were locked in a room next to the dead body of the old lady. They were awaiting execution the next day. The ladies in the team were crying.

Jonathan would not accept that this would happen to them. He held the hand of the dead lady for sometime praying to God for a miracle. After a few hours her hands slowly became warmer and warmer until finally she opened her eyes!

When the villagers came for the team they were shocked when they opened the door to see the old lady alive and well. Jonathan and the team had a great crusade that evening in that village!

Once while in Germany, Jonathan was visiting someone at the hospital. While walking through the hospital he saw a lady crying with a baby on her shoulder. Thinking that maybe she was crying because the baby was unwell, he approached her and offered to pray for the baby. As he prayed the baby began to cough. The mother screamed and ran to get the doctor. Jonathan was surprised and thought that he had done something wrong. When the doctor arrived Jonathan learnt that the baby had been certified died and that was why the mother was crying. God brought the dead baby back to life! Through this miracle Jonathan received invitations to preach throughout Germany. Previously he had no invitations there.

Many people are amazed when they come to know that Jonathan is over 50 years old. Often people believe he is in his thirty's. This too came about through a miracle. Previously he had a skin disorder. He stood by a verse in the Bible that spoke of having skin like that of a child and believed that God would give him that. And he did.

Summary of his Christian life, studies and ministry

Jonathan Ansar was born on 10th December 1950. He became "born again" on 14th February 1975 and was baptised with water on 10th April in the same year. He dedicated his life for Christian ministry on 5th March 1976. He was in a seminary in Burma and later he studied in other theological studies. In 1979 he was ordained as a Pastor in an Anglican church. He worked as an Anglican priest for sometime. However, when he was baptised with the Holy Ghost on 21st October 1980, the church eventually suspended him because he spoke in unknown tongues.

He planted a few churches in Burma and then he came to India in 1984 with the desire to work in the land where he was born. For two years he worked for World Islamic Evangelisation as senior advisor and preacher. On 7th August 1986 he married Raj Prabha (National basketball player for India until 1984). They have three children now.

From 1986-1987 he was the Chaplain of a School and Priest at the Church of North India, Kashmir. Jonathan formed several churches during the period of 1987-1989 after which he became chaplain of the Christian Medical College in Ludhiana, Punjab for two years. Following this he became Senior Pastor of the Christian Fellowship Centre in Bombay (1991-1993) that grew from a few members to well over 1000 members during the time.

His international ministry began in 1994 when he founded the "Revival Crusaders International" and during that year he reached 11 states of North India -- which was his vision. He has since traveled to over 30 nations and preached the gospel.

In 1995 the reformed Church of India elected him to be the Bishop of India and the President of their Board of Ministers. He became the Executive Director of the Supreme Task Bible Training Centre in 1996 and still holds that position today. The year of 1997 saw the birth of "The Church of India (Rhema)". Today he is the bishop over five other Bishops and oversees 248 church (CIR) and 400 other ministers.

Over the years he has obtained several qualifications -- Bachelor of Divinity from the Burma Institute of Theology, Master of Arts (Theology) and Doctor of Divinity from Hebrew Christian Theological Open University. He has lectured as a visiting teacher in various Bible colleges in India and abroad.
